I’ll tackle drugs first. I don’t tolerate drugs nor the people that use the.m I’m sorry if I’m going to offend a lot of people but that’s my take. I don’t see their purpose. People who are taking them are violating their right to be healthy. I don’t buy the argument that drugs take them to oblivion and help them forget their problems once in a while. Again, I don’t get the logic of using problems as a reason to violate ourself.
Second: alcohol. I tolerate social drinking but not drinking until the point we can’t handle ourself anymore. Alcohol has benefits. We all need it once in a while. But it’s a different issue when alcohol becomes a habit. Just like drugs, it becomes a violation of our right to be healthy. The sad part in alcohol abuse is we have full control of when should we stop.
When drugs and alcohol use reach the superlative form–addiction, we are cheating our self of the chance to live longer. We become the cause of our own demise.
(P.S. I didn’t post the past two days! Wah! I cheated. 😦 )
